Benilde-St. Margaret's at Blake
7 p.m., Thursday, April 24

There was a time not so long ago when this game featured the state’s biggest stars, attracted huge crowds and was streamed live on the web. That was back when Benilde-St. Margaret’s and Blake were the undisputed 1 and 2 in the state, the order depending on who won the most recent meeting. The programs aren’t quite at that level these days, but Benilde-St. Margaret’s proved it can beat any team with an 8-7 victory over defending state champion Eden Prairie in its season opener. Thomas Luedke and Michael Lamb each had six goals through the Red Knights' first two games, that’s before their 15-14 shootout loss to Eagan on Saturday. Blake has played just once so far, a 7-6 loss to Prior Lake on April 15. The Bears, anchored by a rock solid defense that includes senior Hobart commit Tom Blease, play Burnsville on Monday before its matchup with the Red Knights.
