Chanhassen at Chaska
7 p.m., Thursday, May 8

Another big rivalry game, although this one doesn’t have much of a history. Matter of fact, this is the first time these southwest metro neighbors will meet after splitting from their co-operative and into individual programs after last season. Chanhassen has been surprisingly strong, posting a 4-3 record and getting plenty of scoring from Mark Trautman (17 goals), Neal Smith (16 goals) and Jadon Kerry (14 goals). The Storm are coming off Saturday’s wild 16-15 loss to highly regarded Orono. Chaska’s 1-4 start is more of what you would expect from a first-year program. The Hawks did open with a 12-9 win over Shakopee, but they have played a difficult schedule since. Daniel Urbanciz, with 15 goals, does the bulk of the scoring.
