Benilde-St. Margaret’s at Cretin-Derham Hall
7 p.m., Thursday, May 22

Benilde-St. Margaret’s opens its week with a chance to clinch the North Suburban Conference championship against Irondale, then the No. 4 Red Knights close the regular season with this matchup against fellow private school power Cretin-Derham Hall. Benilde-St. Margaret’s gave No. 2 Eden Prairie a scare last week before losing on a last-second goal, a performance that should answer any questions about the Red Knights’ abilities. They are led by a trio of 20-plus goal scorers in Ali Praus (31 goals), Abby Sauer (27) and Kelly Pannek (25). Cretin-Derham Hall, which is likely to split the Suburban East Conference championship with Stillwater and East Ridge, is 8-3 with all three losses against highly regarded teams (Blake, Apple Valley and Stillwater). Senior Giselle Rogers ranks just outside the state’s top 10 with 39 goals, and freshman Elle Crawford is fourth in the state with a .623 save percentage.
