Twin brothers Carter and Conner Yepsen of Rosemount are two of the seven finalists for the Mr. Lacrosse Award, given annually to the outstanding senior high school boys’ lacrosse player in Minnesota.

Other Mr. Lacrosse finalists, selected by a panel of Minnesota lacrosse community members, coaches and experts from around the state, are Max Elsenheimer of Eagan, Michael Lamb of Benilde-St. Margaret’s, J.R. Riley of St. Thomas Academy, Sam Turner of Academy of Holy Angels and Charlie Venable of Eden Prairie.

The winners of the Mr. and Ms. Lacrosse Awards will be named during an awards banquet at 12 p.m. on Sunday, June 15 at the Crowne Plaza Riverfront Hotel in St. Paul.

The Ms. Lacrosse finalists are Sophie Buelow of Chanhassen, Sheila Hirsch of Edina, Anna Johnson of Eden Prairie, Katie Larson of Apple Valley, Ali Ridge of Minnetonka, Anne Slusser of Blake and Lydia Sutton of Blake.

Also announced on Tuesday were the finalists for the Mr. and Ms. Lacrosse Goalie of the Year awards, given to the state's outstanding senior boys and girls goaltender.

The Mr. Goalie finalists are Max Fahey of Eden Prairie and Aaron Wiederhoeft of Prior Lake. Oralee Hespenheide of Bloomington Jefferson and Maddie Kohlbeck of Farmington are the Ms. Goalie finalists.

The 2014 Mr. and Ms. Lacrosse awards banquet is presented by the Minnesota Swarm and is open to the entire lacrosse community as well as the general public. Tickets can be purchased for $35.00 online at minnesotaminutemen.com.
