Blake at Minneapolis Washburn
5 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 2

Blake has fared well lately against some of the state's top-ranked Class 1A teams. The Bears (9-3-2), No. 7-1A, recorded a 1-0 victory over DeLaSalle, No. 10-1A, Sept. 20 and handed St. Paul Academy, No. 8-1A, a 3-2 loss Sept. 18. But defeating top-ranked Minneapolis Washburn (13-0-0) in a nonconference matchup won't be so simple.

The Millers are outscoring their opponents 63-2. Minneapolis Washburn has four players with 10 or more goals led by Morgan Cottew, who has 18 goals and 15 assists. The senior forward is one of the top scorers in the state. The Millers' other top scorers are senior forward Elisabeth Stout with 12 goals, junior forward Maya Rajacich with 11 goals and 11 assists and junior forward Brooke Innes with 10 goals.

Blake's defense has been playing well the last four games, allowing two goals. Senior midfielder Maddy Moe leads Blake with nine goals.
