Edina at Wayzata
7:30 p.m., Thursday, May 7

No. 13 Edina (3-3, 3-1) has played the role of giant-killer already this year by defeating No. 1 Eden Prairie 5-4 and snapping the Eagles' 13-game winning streak that dated back to last season.

Junior attackman A.J. Nelson has a team-high 13 assists and directs the Hornets' offense, setting up players such as Edina's leading scorers in junior attackmen John Marple (14 goals) and Hunter Halling (13 goals).

The Hornets also lead the Lake Conference in ground balls with 164, a key stat that could help Edina control the game against Wayzata -- the league's highest-scoring offense with 40 goals.

The No. 4 Trojans have a victory over perennial conference champion Eden Prairie, dispatching the Eagles 9-4 on April 30.

Senior midfielder Grant Long (14-6-20), junior attackman Amar Batra (10-9-19) and senior attackmen Max Stecker (8-10-18) and Charlie Chermak (10-3-13) pace Wayzata (7-0, 4-0).
