Benilde-St. Margaret's at Blake
5:30 p.m., Thursday, May 7

Benilde-St. Margaret’s (4-2) seems to have its offense back on track. After tallying 17 goals in a season-opening win over Bloomington Jefferson, the Red Knights' offense fizzled and produced only eight total goals in back-to-back losses to No. 4 Lakeville South and No. 1 Eden Prairie.

Benilde-St. Margaret's recovered from the losing streak by scoring 42 goals in its next three games -- all victories. Senior forward Sydney Liebl has been the catalyst on offense with 18 goals during the Red Knights' latest run, including seven in a 14-13 victory over Bloomington Kennedy on April 28. Liebl has 29 goals, which leads the team and is fifth-best in the state.

Senior midfielder Allie Coughlin (12-6-18) not only scores, but she leads the Red Knights in ground balls with 13.

No. 2 Blake (7-1) hasn’t been challenged by an opponent this season, and the Bears' dominance is underscored by their combined 102-30 scoring edge in six games. Blake feasts on opposing defenses in the second half of games, racking up 64 goals after halftime.

Senior attacker Olivia Nolan (28-14-42) is tied for third in the state in total points, while junior midfielders Annie Lyman (17-13-30) and Lucy Nelson (12-8-20) are an effective pairing in the middle of the field for the Bears.
