First Report

Thanks to a little Senior Night magic, Minnetonka overcame a six-goal deficit with less than 11 minutes left in the game to force Prior Lake to its second overtime of the week.

Just like the first, the Lakers fell short as Skippers sophomore Savannah Bhojwani found the back of the net in the second half of overtime, scoring her fourth goal of the night and sealing a 14-13 victory Thursday at Minnetonka High School.

But Bhojwani’s goal wouldn’t have been a possibility had it not been for senior Erin McGinnis’ six-goal output – including the last two goals in regulation for Minnetonka (9-4), ranked No. 4 in the poll provided by the Minnesota Girls' Lacrosse Coaches Association

While the Skippers were chipping away at the lead, senior goalie Alyssa Norby made numerous saves down the stretch to keep No. 3 Prior Lake (11-2) scoreless for a combined 20 straight minutes, stretching from from the second half into overtime.

Junior Aleah Fjelstad scored three goals for the Lakers, but it wasn’t enough as Prior Lake enters sections with two straight losses.
