Stillwater continued it’s impressive playoff run.

The Ponies earned their fifth consecutive state tournament bid after defeating Park of Cottage Grove 15-2 in the Section 4 title game Tuesday at Roseville Area High School. 

Stillwater finished third at state last year and enters next week’s tournament on a roll, having outscored postseason opponents 52-8 in three games, and the Ponies cruised to a victory in the section championship.

Top-seeded Stillwater led 9-0 at halftime and finished the game in running time.

Junior midfielder Carly Fedorowski, who scored a game-high five goals, said the Ponies don’t change their mindset when the lead reaches double digits. 

“You can’t really focus on the score,” Fedorowski said. “You just have to play.”

Stillwater coach Rick Reidt said the anticipation of another trip to the state tournament never diminishes, even with his team’s consistent success.

“It’s a new group of players every year,” Reidt said. “It’s going to be an exciting week for us.”

Ponies senior forward Megan Warbalow scored twice in the game’s final moments to end the game with a hat trick. 

Senior forward Anna Corman finished with two goals and three assists, while senior midfielders Ellie Anderson and Remi Larson tallied two goals apiece for Stillwater (14-2). 

Juniors Megan Palmquist and Dani Perry each scored a goals for No. 2 seed Park of Cottage Grove (12-4).
