St. Louis Park struggled in a 12-4 loss to Hopkins to begin the season. The Orioles (0-1) need junior midfielder Brody Ilstrup to return to last season's form, where Illstrup recorded 60 goals and 71 points. 

Chaska is red-hot to start the year, defeating Northfield 18-5 and Delano 18-7 in its first two games. Senior attacker Benjamin Reesor scored six goals in the Northfield win, and freshman attacker Gabe Friedbauer added four goals in the victory for the Hawks.
