Edina at Eden Prairie
7:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 17

Edina holds a game and a half lead over Eden Priaire in the Lake Conference standings entering the week, and the Hornets could take another step towards a league championship with a win over the Eagles Tuesday.

A trio of senior attackers has led Edina on its climb to the No. 1 ranking. Hunter Halling (22-9-31), A.J. Nelson (9-20-29) and John Marple (21-5-26) have given defenses fits all season, and a staunch back end has allowed a Lake Conference-low 39 goals.

Injuries to multiple key players aside, No. 5 Eden Prairie (8-2, 5-2) still has a formidable group of healthy players that shouldn't be overlooked. Junior attacker Nicky Leivermann (22 goals) and freshman midfielder Collin Penn (17-5-22) have the led the Eagles to four straight wins since losing back-to-back games to the Hornets and Wayzata.

In this season's first meeting, Edina's A.J. Nelson scored a game-high seven points in the Hornets' 12-9 win on May 3.
