On the way to Chanhassen High School Wednesday, Eden Prairie’s Emilie Bloyer felt a familiar case of nerves.

“I know we’re going to play well when I get butterflies in my stomach,” the freshman goalkeeper said. “I was feeling them all the way over here.”

Eden Prairie kept up its season-long dominance, routing Cretin-Derham Hall 20-2 to advance to Thursday’s state tournament semifinals.

The Eagles' offense was its usual ridiculously effective self, generating 20 goals for the seventh time this season. Naomi Rogge scored five goals for the Eagles while Kelly Lewis and Sammie Morton had four goals each.

Nearly lost in the onslaught was the play of Bloyer. Playing goalie in lacrosse is often a thankless job, with even the best ones rarely posting a save percentage above 70 percent. Bloyer stopped 11 of 13 shots on goal for a remarkable .846 save percentage.

Even when Cretin-Derham Hall managed to penetrate the Eden Prairie defense, Bloyer was there making save after save.

“She deserves it,” senior Sara Woodring said. “She was great.”

Bloyer admitted she was at the top of her game Wednesday.

“This is one of the best games I’ve had,” she said afterward. “It helps having such an amazing team. They are always so supportive. I gave up two goals and was thinking about what I would have done differently, but they were there saying it wasn’t my fault and staying positive. I couldn’t play with a better bunch of teammates.”
