Stillwater at Edina
7:30 p.m., Friday, April 14

Suburban East powerhouse Stillwater visits Edina on Friday, and the Hornets will be upset-minded and eager to assert themselves in the upper echelon of girls' lacrosse.

The Ponies program reloads every year with top-end talent that has led Stillwater to six consecutive state tournament berths. The Ponies nearly upset perennial championship contender Eden Prairie in the state semifinals last year and rebounded to defeat Prior Lake 7-6 in the third place game, finishing with a 16-2 record.

All-American honoree Olivia Konigson is Stillwater's top returning scorer after posting 51 goals and three assists in all competitions last year, while Abby Hagberg finished right behind Konigson with 49 goals. The duo leads a Ponies lineup that returns four of its top six scorers from last year.

Anna Klein is Edina’s top returning offensive threat after a 22-goal regular season, followed by Lolita Fidler’s total of 17. Freshman Helen Propson (13 goals) and eighth-grader Haley Reeck (11 goals) should make strides this spring for the Hornets after both players tallied double-digit goals as middle schoolers last season.
