Northfield at Shakopee
5 p.m., Saturday, May 13

Since a 14-7 loss to Lakeville South on April 20, Northfield has won five straight and stretched its record to 6-1.

The key pieces for the surging Raiders (6-1, 6-0) are midfielder Chase Marlenee (20-6-26) and attacker Quinn Beithon (11-9-20), who pace an attack featuring six players with 10 or more points. The offensive production has been particularly impressive in the second quarter, where Northfield has outscored opponents 25-12.

Shakopee (5-2, 2-2) boasts its own talented offense, with senior midfielder Adam Bleess (19-5-24) spearheading an attack with three players over the 20-point threshold.

That offense must play a role early for the Sabers, who have lost two of their last three games, including a 9-8 defeat to South Suburban Conference rival Rosemount on May 4.
