In a span of 20 seconds in the first quarter against Maple Grove, Daxton Bush and Carter Van Holland each scored a goal for Chanhassen to put the Storm up 2-0.
That foreshadowed what was to come for the rest of the game, as Bush and Van Holland combined to score 11 goals in a 13-6 win against the Crimson.
“It’s such a dynamic duo,” Chanhassen coach Jon Junker said of Bush and Van Holland.
Chanhassen maintained its perfect record on Friday night by defeating Maple Grove 13-6 on the road.
The Storm (7-0, 3-0) controlled the game early, as Daxton Bush, Carter Van Holland and Nolan Strang all scored in a 56-second span to give them a 3-0 lead with 7:08 to go in the first. Ricky Peterson and Rory Scanlon scored on the opposite side of Bush’s second goal to make it 4-2 Chanhassen at the end of the first.
The Crimson (6-1, 6-0) controlled the ball for the majority of the second quarter. However, goals from Bush and Van Holland made it 6-2 in favor of the Storm at halftime.
After Roman Schreiber scored the first goal of the second half, the Crimson rattled off three unanswered, with one of them coming from goaltender Hale Farniok. Looking like the Crimson would carry momentum into the fourth, Van Holland scored his third goal of the game at the buzzer to make it 8-5 Chanhassen at the end of three.
Bush and Van Holland combined for five goals in the fourth quarter to see out the victory.
