Visitation junior Rachel Mussell is a midfielder on the school’s lacrosse team. Here is a closer look at Mussell:

 

The best movie I’ve seen in the past year: “Perks of Being a Wallflower.” It was an amazing story about a boy who’s a “misfit,” but he finds great friends and you find out all the sad things that have happened to him in the past. It was a very poignant movie — everyone in my family was crying by the end.

 

Name three songs you never skip on your iPod? Well, I have a lot of songs I never skip on my iPod, but I guess my top three would be “C’mon C’mon” by One Direction; “Diva” by Beyonce; and “Kings and Queens” by SoMo.

 

At my first varsity practice, I felt … timid and shy. The older girls seemed so intimidating, but I soon realized I had a lot in common with them. I was blessed to have them as wonderful role models and mentors.

 

What are your goals for the upcoming season? My goal for the 2012-2013 season is to help Visitation build a solid lacrosse program that will last many years after I graduate. Obviously, winning a lot of games would be great, but I really want to help new players improve and help girls really understand and love the game as much as I do.

 

What is your most memorable moment as a high school athlete? I have had a lot of great moments throughout my high school career so far, but one of my most memorable moments was last year at one of our practices. It was super cold and rainy, so we were all complaining about being at practice and how boring it was, so one of our coaches named Grace made us all take off our shoes and socks and play barefoot. We weren’t bored then! That is just one of the many funny moments we had at practices last year. Although beating St. Louis Park in the first round playoffs was a huge accomplishment, some of the best memories I’ve had are at practices.
