Sophomore Sabrina Tattersfield led No. 2-seeded Benilde-St. Margaret's to the school's first girls lacrosse section finals appearance, scoring four goals against No. 3-seeded Cretin-Derham Hall in a 13-8 win in the Section 6 semifinals on Thursday, May 30, at Benilde-St. Margaret's High School in St. Louis Park.

Tattersfield scored two of her goals as a part of a seven unanswered goals scoring tear by the Red Knights (14-1) in the first half. Samantha Johnson added two goals in the first half, matching Tattersfield.

The Raiders failed to slow down the Red Knights but opened and closed the half with goals, making the score 7-2 entering the second half.

Cretin-Derham Hall (10-5) opened the second half with goals from Sheala Osborne and Monica Whaley.

With the game looking in reach for the Raiders, Tattersfield struck again scoring two more goals, her fourth with an assist awarded to Bailey Forcier. Forcier, a Ms. Lacrosse finalst, also scored a goal in each half to give her three points.

Benilde-St. Margaret's Abby Sauer and Abby Grunewald both scored in the first half, Sauer had an assist on Tattersfield's second goal, and Grunewald also scored in the second half; both finishing with two points each.

Leah Lawler and Caitlyn Russell both led the Raiders scoring two goals a piece.

Benilde will move on to play No. 1-seeded and three-time defending state champion Blake in the Section 6 finals on Tuesday, June 4, at the Edina Community Center at 6:15 pm.
