Witte and her teammates are working hard this summer in pursuit of a lacrosse state tournament berth in 2015. The Panthers didn’t reach the state tournament this past spring after finishing runner-up to Blake in 2013. Here is a closer look at Witte:

The best movie I’ve seen in the last year? “Heaven is for Real.”

Three words or phrases my friends or teammates might use to describe me? Encouraging, hardworking and caring.

Three songs I never skip on my iPod are … “Beat of the Music” by Brett Eldredge; “Trumpets” by Jason Derulo, and “Hope You Get Lonely Tonight” by Cole Swindell.

What are your three favorite apps? Instagram, Snapchat and Twitter.

Who do you like to follow the most on Twitter, and why? Actress Sophia Bush because her tweets are very inspiring, and she is an amazing person.

At my first varsity practice, I felt … very intimidated by the older girls. I didn’t want to make a mistake or mess up.

What are you working on most this summer? Strengthening my shot.

What is your most memorable moment as a high school athlete? Beating Eden Prairie 13-12 in overtime in the semifinals in 2013, and being able to participate in the state championship (the Panthers lost to Blake 14-12 in the final).

How do you balance school and sports during the year? I make both my school work and lacrosse my top priorities. I work really hard at both of them.

In 10 years, I hope I’m … finished with dental school and getting started in my career.

What is the best sports advice you have ever received? Work just as hard in the offseason as you do in season. Always push yourself 100 percent, and push your teammates as well. You can’t win games alone.
