There may be a new coach for Blake, but it doesn’t look like much will change for the six-time defending state champion Bears. Longtime assistant coach Linda Hokr replaces Laura Mark at the helm, and she has a dynamite offense again this season.

Last year, Blake finished the regular season as the fourth-highest scoring team in the state (194 goals) and outscored opponents by more than eight goals per game. Senior forward Olivia Nolan, who led the team in goals and points in the regular season and finished the year with 80 goals, 26 assists and 106 points, is back and has as shown she can take over a game - no matter the opponent.

Holy Family Catholic’s scoring comes from its midfield, as junior Megan Menzuber (47-22-69) and seniors Abby Hanscom (30-13-43) and Emily Nelson (20-8-28) drive a Fire offense that scored 103 regular-season goals.

Which begs the question for our Top Game of the Week: Can the Fire heat up enough to keep pace with the Bears?
