Experience propels Holy Angels as senior midfielder and Marquette signee Scott McNamara (25 goals, nine assists, 34 points), and junior attackman Tommy Kraus (18-6-24) power the Stars (5-3).

McNamara, who was named All-State Third Team by the Minnesota Boys' Lacrosse Coaches Association last year, is tied for the statewide lead in goals and has just eight fewer goals than last year's total of 33.

Holy Angels' three losses have come by a combined six goals, and the Stars are riding a three-game winning streak entering this week. Could this be the year the Stars make their first state tournament appearance? A good indicator will be how they fare against Mahtomedi in the Top Game of the Week.

A powerful and potent junior class is the catalyst for Mahtomedi (5-2), ranked No. 12 by the Minnesota State High School Boys' Lacrosse Coaches Association.

Attackman Matt Schwartz (13-21-34) is tied for third (with McNamara) in the state in points, while midfielder Cole Sellman (14-4-18) offers another scoring option for the Zephyrs.
