Eastview senior attacker Rachel Munos has her sights set on accomplishing a school first — making the girls’ lacrosse state tournament.

“I want to make it back to the Section 3 championship, and come out on top,” Munos said. “We have a great group of girls this year with 11 seniors. I’m really excited to see what happens in the postseason.”

The No. 7-ranked Lightning, according to the coaches association poll, finished the regular season with an 11-2 mark. They are seeded second in the section behind No. 3-ranked Prior Lake.

Eastview lost to Prior Lake 15-6 the first week in May. It also fell to No. 5 Lakeville South 12-6 the first week of the season.

Here is a closer look at Munos:

Q: What is the best movie you have seen in the last year?

A: “Insurgent.”

Q: Three words or phrases your friends or teammates would use to describe you are …

A: … positive, leader and always giving 110 percent.

Q: What are your three favorite apps?

A: Instagram, Pinterest and Snapchat.

Q: When and how did you get started playing lacrosse?

A: I started playing lacrosse in sixth grade when my friend’s dad (Jeff McNamara) first introduced me to it. I’m so grateful for that.

Q: At your first varsity practice, you felt …

A: … really nervous, but so excited.

Q: What is your favorite meal before a game?

A: A sub from Erbert & Gerbert’s with freshly cut fruit from my mom.

Q: How do you prepare for a game?

A: I put my headphones in and visualize what’s ahead.

Q: You know you have an edge on an opponent when …

A: … I see them getting frustrated. That motivates me to keep my composure, so I can outplay them.

Q: What do you do in the offseason?

A: I play in different lacrosse leagues throughout the offseason to help improve my game.

Q: What is your most memorable moment as a high school athlete?

A: Playing in the Section 3 championship my sophomore year against Burnsville. [Eastview dropped a 12-8 decision to the Blaze.]

Q: How do you balance school and sports during the year?

A: I balance school and lacrosse by trying to have a schedule so I know where and when I have to be places. Also, I use my planner in school to write down my assignments so I know what I need to get done every night.

Q: Name one sport that you wish you could play, and why?

A: I wish I would’ve played hockey. A lot of girls play both hockey and lacrosse, and I think that it could’ve helped improve my lacrosse skills.

Q: Who is your school’s biggest rival, and why?

A: Apple Valley, because we share a city. It’s always exciting going up against them in any sport.

Q: When you have time off during vacation, what do you like to do?

A: Spend it with my friends and family, and being somewhere warm.

Q: Who is your favorite college or pro sports team and why?

A: The Minnesota Vikings. I love cheering on the Vikings, win or lose, and just watching football in general.

Q: In 10 years, you hope you’ve …

A: … graduated from the nursing program at Bethel University and working at a big hospital downtown.
