Prior Lake seems poised for another state tournament run with a bulk of its players returning from last year’s state consolation championship team.

The Lakers boast a prolific offense that brings back six of its seven leading scorers, including senior attackers Ashley Norberg (48-35-83) and Aleah Fjelstad (39-10-49), who were named to the Minnesota Girls Lacrosse Coaches’ Association All-State team last season

Edina didn't go as far in the postseason as Prior Lake, falling to Minnetonka 11-10 in the Section 2 semifinals last season. But the Hornets have the look of a contender with 13 players back from last year’s 9-6 team, including leading scorer Catherine MacLennan (29-11-40). The senior was also an all-state selection.

Edina will have to replace graduated goaltender Tara Basting, however, the close loss to the Skippers in the postseason could provide the Hornets with ample motivation to advance even further this season.

This game promises plenty of scoring as these teams have significant offensive weapons at their disposal, making this early matchup our Top Game of the Week.
