May 27: The Eagles and Bears battle in a regular-season finale featuring two of the state's preeminent programs.

Arguably the marquee lacrosse matchup of the season, boys or girls, takes place this Friday between perennial powers Eden Prairie and Blake.

The Bears (10-1) are undefeated against in-state opponents, falling only to New Trier (Illinois) this season. Eight players have 15 or more points for Blake, ranked No. 2 in the coaches' poll, led by junior attacker Emily Johnsrud (34-24-58).

The No. 1-ranked Eagles (10-1) are also undefeated Minnesota schools, also falling to a school from Illinois (Loyola Academy). Eden Prairie features an absurd amount of scoring ability, led by senior forward Sara Woodring (34-36-70).

The defending champion Eagles have notched 85 goals in the second half alone this year, and the closest margin of victory has been 10 goals.

With the only teams to win titles in the nine-year history of the Minnesota State High School League girls' lacrosse state tournament, this matchup between Blake (six titles) and Eden Prairie (three) could be a possible state championship preview and our pick for the Top Game of the Week.
