Megan Menzuber was named Minnesota's 2016 Ms. Lacrosse at a banquet in St. Louis Park on June 19.

The award is given to the state's most outstanding high school senior player and is chosen by a panel of scouts/coaches and select members from Minnesota's lacrosse community. The honor is presented by the Minnesota Minute Men.

The other finalists were Annie Lyman (Blake), Sara Woodring, (Eden Prairie), Ashley Norberg (Prior Lake), Katie Moynihan (Apple Valley), Aleah Fjelstad (Prior Lake) and Carly Fedorowski (Stillwater).

Also named the Star Tribune Metro Player of the Year, Menzuber totaled 72 goals and 86 points this season and led the Fire to the Section 2 semifinals, where they lost to eventual state champion Eden Prairie.

A high school All-American, Menzuber is a three-time all-state pick in lacrosse and a state qualifier in tennis.

She ended her high school career with 239 goals and 81 assists and will join her cousin, former Eastview standout Ryan McNamara, at Marquette next year.

Katie Lottsfeld

Stillwater's Katie Lottsfeldt won the Jake Anderson Award, given to the state's top senior goalie. She was also honored at the banquet.

A three-year starter, Lottsfeldt played a key role in the Ponies’ fourth-place finish at this year’s state tournament.

A high school All-American, Lottsfeldt owns the state tournament record for total saves (27) and is tied for the most saves made in one game (12).

Lottsfeldt was named to Minnesota coaches association's all-state and Suburban East all-conference teams and will continue her career at Concordia (St. Paul).

Eastview's Sam Tyo was also a finalist for the honor.
