Two-time defending state champion Eden Prairie retained the top ranking in the Minnesota Girls' Lacrosse Coaches Association preseason poll that was released Friday.
The Eagles returned three all-Americans in Hannah Brink, Sammi Morton and Naomi Rogge, and lost only two regular contributors from last year’s team that went unbeaten against in-state competition.
First-team all-state selections Emily Johnsrud and Nellie Ide anchor last year's runner-up Blake, which earned the No. 2 preseason ranking with 14 players expected back on the roster.
All-American Olivia Konigson leads No. 3 Stillwater, which returns four of its six top scorers from a season ago when the Ponies took the third place title at state.
Fourth-place finisher Prior Lake holds the No. 4 ranking as the Lakers return three of their top six scorers, including leading scorer Lexi Peer.
Minnetonka rounded out the top 5, followed by No. 6 Apple Valley, No. 7 Edina, No. 8 Breck, and No. 9 Lakeville South. Chanhassen and Holy Family Catholic tied for the No. 10 spot.
