April 14: While the Tigers look to establish themselves as a top program, the Huskies will look to avenge last year's 12-8 section playoff loss.

Farmington returns many of its vital pieces, which should ensure that the Tigers will get the best shot from every team in Section 1 this year. The team with the biggest bullseye squared on Farmington could be Owatonna, the Tigers' last victim of the 2016 postseason and its first opponent to open 2017.

The Tigers' lethal senior attacker combination of Nick Hinnenkamp and Nick Klotz returns this season after combining for 45 goals and 75 points last year, spearheading an attack that features five of last season's eight leading scorers.

As many as six pivotal cogs return for the Huskies after an 8-6 2016 finish, and all six hail from a loaded junior class.

Attackers Walker Nelson (21 goals, 34 points) and Landon Thurnau (23 goals, 33 points) are the Huskies' answer to Hinnenkamp and Klotz. With so much firepower on the field, the in-game player matchups will add their own level of spice to this season-opener.

With Farmington prepared to take the next step and establish itself as a perennial power, and with Owatonna primed for redemption after a 12-8 section playoff loss to the Tigers, this is our pick for the Top Game of the Week.
