The west metro has the traditional powers of Eden Prairie and Blake, ranked No. 1 and 2 respectively in the Minnesota Girls Lacrosse Coaches' Association poll, that have been the standard in girls' lacrosse for years.

Cretin-Derham Hall, a program often overshadowed by the standalone east metro juggernaut Stillwater, took Blake to the wire on Saturday, eventually falling 6-5 on the road.

The Raiders (1-1) will hope to gain confidence from hanging with one of the best teams in the state going into Tuesday's matchup with another premier club in the Ponies. If Cretin-Derham Hall needed more motivation, No. 3 Stillwater is currently on a 23-game Suburban East Conference winning streak that stretches back to 2014.

The Ponies (0-2) dropped their first two contests of the season, but this rivalry game could spark another run for the league title.

Both teams have plenty to prove and plenty to play for early in the season, making Tuesday's matchup our Top Game of the Week.
