Game between Colorado University, Minnesota-Duluth to be streamed live

Anticipation of an exciting game led CollegeLAX to announce it will provide a live broadcast of the Saturday, March 19, game between the University of Minnesota-Duluth and Colorado University.

“CollegeLAX is very excited to offer this live video" CollegeLAX founder Sonny Pieper said. "This is an excellent out-of-conference MCLA game and I hope lacrosse fans from around the country join us online at CollegeLAX for this compelling webcast."

During the 2009 MCLA National Championship Tournament, Colorado won a thrilling semifinal battle over Duluth, 13-10, as attackman James Blackburn notched seven goals and an assist in the Buffaloes’ victory.

The Bulldogs got their revenge in 2010 as Duluth defeated Colorado, 11-10, in Boulder, Colo.

It’s no secret that games between the Duluth and Colorado have provided fireworks throughout the years.

This year’s regular season matchup is not likely to be an exception.

“The Bulldogs came into Boulder last year and handed us a close loss right after we beat Michigan,” Colorado coach Mike Ryder said. “We have a bitter taste from that loss and will be looking to avenge them this year. No doubt they will be a top team as this season unfolds.”

With their history including several close games and heated play on the field, a rivalry has developed between the Buffaloes and Bulldogs.

“The last two games we’ve played against them have been very competitive games,” Minnesota-Duluth coach Frank Clark said. “We’re looking forward to the challenge and we think they’re one of the top tier teams out there. It will be a good test to see where we are at that point.”

Along with the game, both programs are looking forward to having the game broadcast online.

“The chance to be live streamed online through CollegeLAX says a lot about where the MCLA is going,” Ryder said.

“It’s a great opportunity,” Clark said. “The more lacrosse that’s out there, the better. It will help grow the game and grow the MCLA brand which I think is very important.”

The game between the Buffaloes and Bulldogs will take place on Saturday, March 19, at 7 p.m. and will be played at Lakeridge High School in Lake Oswego, Ore. Live broadcast will be provided at CollegeLAX.us.
