Check out each bracket from all eight sections.

Section 1

Rivals Lakeville South (No. 1) and Lakeville North (No. 2) received the top two seeds in Section 1. Neither of the Lakeville teams finished the season ranked in the top 10 of the coaches poll. Lakeville North ended the season ranked No. 13, while Lakeville South didn’t receive any votes. Both teams finished the season with overall records under .500. In their only meeting this season, the Cougars (5-8) scored a 9-8 victory over the Panthers (6-7) in a South Suburban Conference clash at Lakeville North.

Section 2

Section 2 might be the toughest in the state, as it boasts three programs that finished ranked among the top 14 teams in the state. The top three seeds are No. 1 Eden Prairie (10-1), No. 2 Chanhassen (9-2) and No. 3 Minnetonka (7-6). In last week's coaches' poll, the Eagles were ranked No. 3, the Storm was No. 5 and Minnetonka landed at No. 14.

Section 3

There are two top-10 teams in Section 3, with No. 2-ranked Eagan (12-1) and No. 7 Rosemount (10-3) receiving the top two seeds in the section bracket. The top-seeded Wildcats defeated the second-seeded Irish 15-4 in their South Suburban matchup on May 2. Brandon Wuertz scored four goals for Eagan in the victory, and he ended the season with 50, second-most in the state.

Section 4

Sam Lindahl, the state's points leader who finished the regular season with 61 goals and 30 assists, led Tartan to the No. 2 seed in Section 4. The Titans (11-2) finished the season ranked No. 10, and if they want to win the section title, they’ll have to go through the top seed Mahtomedi (12-1), which finished the season ranked No. 4. The Zephyrs edged out the Titans 11-10 in their regular-season contest.

Section 5

Benilde St. Margaret’s secured the top seed in Section 5 helped in part by its 11-2 regular season record. The Red Knights finished second in the Metro West Conference, which was won by Chanhassen, and finished the season on a four-game winning streak. Benilde-St. Margaret's hopes that will become a five-game winning streak with a victory against No. 8-seeded Hopkins in the quarterfinals on May 31.

Section 6

If there is an argument over which section is the toughest, Section 6 has to be in consideration. For starters, Eastview (13-0), the No. 1-ranked team in the state and the South Suburban Conference champions, is the top seed. Prior Lake (10-3), which finished fourth in the league standings and at No. 8 in the rankings, earned the No. 2 seed. The Lightning topped the Lakers 10-9 in the regular-season finale. To round things out, the section also includes third-seeded Bloomington Kennedy (9-4), which was ranked No. 15 and knocked off longtime rival Bloomington Jefferson 9-8 this season.

Section 7

Anoka was given the No. 1 seed in Section 7. The No. 12-ranked Tornadoes (10-1) only loss on the season came against No. 9-ranked Maple Grove in an 11-9 decision May 3. Their most recent game was an 8-5 win against Blaine, who got the second seed in section playoffs.

Section 8

Maple Grove joins Eastview as the state's only undefeated teams, and the Crimson’s flawless record helped earned them the top seed in Section 8. To get through the section, Maple Grove (13-0) may have to beat Ryley Zopfi and second-seeded St. Michael-Albertville. Zopfi leads the state with 34 assists and is second in points with 82. Also in the Crimson's way is the third-seeded Wayzata (8-4), which finished the season ranked No. 11. The Trojans have experience with tough teams, as they’ve beaten Minnetonka (twice) and Chanhassen this season.
