See all eight brackets for the section playoffs.

Section 1

Farmington (11-2) earned the No. 1 seed in Section 1 after finishing the season ranked No. 5 in the coaches' poll and recording victories over section rivals Lakeville North and Lakeville South in the regular season. The Panthers (9-4) are the No. 2 seed while the No. 3 seed went to the Cougars (8-5), who narrowly lost to the Tigers 10-9 in the regular-season finale.

Section 2

Three teams ranked in the top 10 reside in Section 2, highlighted by top seed Eden Prairie (12-1). The Eagles have remained atop the coaches' poll for most of the season, with their only loss coming to Loyola Academy (Illinois). The second seed is No. 8-ranked Minnetonka (8-5-0) while No. 10-ranked Chanhassen (11-3-0) earned the third seed. The Storm are led by Erica Peterson, who leads the state with 38 assists and boasts a team-best 34 goals this season.

Section 3

Cretin Derham-Hall (11-2-0) gets the top seed in Section 3 after finishing the regular season on an impressive run. The No. 8-ranked Raiders lost to Blaine and Stillwater in late April, but haven’t lost since. Their 10-game winning streak includes a victory over East Ridge 14-7, which is the No. 2 seed in the bracket.

Section 4

Stillwater first win of the season was the last time Cretin-Derham Hall lost, a 7-6 victory on April 25. The Ponies (11-2) have won every game they’ve played since, extending their winning streak to 11 games. They will try to make it 12 in a row when facing St. Croix Prep (4-5) in the quarterfinals on Thursday. St. Croix Prep defeated North St. Paul in the play-in game on May 30 to have the chance to knock off Stillwater.

Section 5

Blake was the No. 2-ranked team for most of the year, but the Bears (9-3) fell to No. 4 after ending the season with losses to Prior Lake and Eden Prairie. Despite the late stumbles, Blake secured the top seed in Section 5 and could be on a collision course with second-seeded Breck (10-3), which lost to the Bears 20-12 on May 4.

Section 6

Section 6 is stacked with talent, as its top three seeds -- Prior Lake (12-1), Apple Valley (12-1) and Edina (7-5) -- all finished the season among the top six of the state rankings. Prior Lake won the South Suburban Conference with a 9-0 league mark, while Apple Valley was the the Lakers' closest competitor after finishing at 8-1. The Eagles' only loss came against Prior Lake, a 9-7 defeat on April 27. Even the sixth seed in the bracket, Bloomington Kennedy (8-5), won’t be an easy out as it is powered by Julia Monson, who scored 86 goals this season -- 17 more than anyone else in the state.

Section 7

Section 7 is not quite as stacked as Section 6, but the competition could be as fierce. Blaine (12-1) received the No. 1 seed, with its only loss of the season coming against Breck, and has had success against the other teams in this section, including second-seeded Centennial (7-6). The Bengals beat the Cougars 21-7 on May 1.

Section 8

Maple Grove (10-3) snagged the top seed, and the Crimson play No. 8 seed Monticello (6-6) in quarterfinals on Thursday. The Magic beat Becker in the play-in game on Tuesday and are headed to their first meeting of the season with Maple Grove. Monticello could be a sneaky time, as it recorded a 12-10 victory over Buffalo (11-2), the No. 2 seed in the bracket, on April 24.
