Boys' lacrosse highlights: June 5-8

June 5: Elliot Forst and Blake Dickson each had two goals to help Minnetonka reach the Section 2 title game.

June 5 

Minnetonka 6, Chanhassen 5 (2OT): Minnetonka moved on to the Section 2 championship game after defeating Chanhassen in double overtime. Elliot Forst and Blake Dickson each had two goals along with two assists for the Skippers. Minnetonka goaltender Jack Bayless earned his second win of the section tournament and had 14 saves. Chanhassen was led by Cole Grindberg, Hunter Holcomb and Jadon Kerry, who each had two goals. 
 
Benilde St. Margaret’s 16, St. Louis Park 4: Quinn Ehlen was an offensive force for Benilde-St. Margaret’s, scoring five goals. Eric Weber contributed a hat trick with two assists in a blowout victory in the Section 4 semifinals.
 
Eden Prairie 12, Shakopee 4: Eden Prairie breezed through Shakopee in dominant fashion. The Eagles’ Nick Leiverman and Connor Olson each had four goals. Teammate Noah Becker had seven saves as he earned his 14th victory of the season. Ronnie Gunter Jr. led Shakopee with two goals. 
 
Anoka 17, Centennial 5: Chandler Foerster had a team-high six goals, and teammate Jack Savini added three more as the Tornadoes blew past the Cougars. Anoka’s Preston Olson scored two goals and distributed three assists. 
 
Blake 9, Robbinsdale Armstrong 8 (OT): Robbinsdale Armstrong came back in the fourth quarter and forced overtime, but Blake prevailed, scoring the game-winner to advance to the Section 5 championship game against Benilde St. Margaret’s. 
 
Maple Grove 15, Elk River 7: The Elks' Eli Clusiau scored three goals, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the offensive attack of the Crimson, who won to advance to the Section 7 championship. 
 
Wayzata 10, St. Michael-Albertville 5: Wayzata won despite a solid performance from St. Michael-Albertville's Adam Flammang, who scored two twice while and teammate Pierce Bedell scored a goal and dished out three assists. 

June 6
 
Prior Lake 18, Bloomington Jefferson 1: The Lakers unleashed their most dominant performance of the season in disposing the Jaguars. Jadon Dorn had four goals and Luke Bloedow had three for Prior Lake, and teammate Carter Collins had three goals and two assists.
 
Eagan 19, St. Thomas Academy 9: Eagan, the No. 1 seed in Section 3, moved on to the championship after a solid performance against St. Thomas Academy. Issac Peifer and Cole Powell combined for six goals, including two from Peifer in the second period. John Courtington had eight saves in the win.   
 
Lakeville North 15, Lakeville South 14 (OT): In a thrilling overtime finish, the Panthers edged the in-town rival Cougars to advance to the state tournament. 
 
Mahtomedi 13, Tartan 12 (OT): After rallying from a two-goal deficit in the fourth quarter, Mahtomedi won the game and advanced to the state tournament on Ben Putney's overtime tally. Timmy Lindquist scored six goals, and teammate Josh Campbell scored two goals and had an assist for the Zephyrs. Sam Lindahl played an outstanding game for the Titans, scoring six goals. 
 
Park of Cottage Grove 12, Rosemount 11: Grant Glazer’s unstoppable performance helped lift the Wolfpack to the Section 3 championship game. Glazer scored four goals and dished out two assists and goaltender Zakk Morse had 12 saves for Park. 
 
Eastview 11, Edina 4: Solid performances by Noah Linder, Joe Stillings, and Maxwell Herzog helped Eastview extend its perfect record and advance to the Section 6 title with a decisive victory against the Hornets. Linder had three goals and two assists, Stillings scored two goals and dished out three assists, and Herzog concluded the game with two goals for the Lightning. Edina’s Quinn Marple led the way with two goals for the losing Hornets. 
 
June 7
 
Eden Prairie 11, Minnetonka 6: The Eagles secured a bid to the state tournament by edging out the Skippers in the Section 2 championship. Nick Leivermann led the way with three goals and an assist in the winning cause. Ryan Abstein contributed two goals and Matthew Wasson saved eight shots for Eden Prairie.
 
Anoka 14, Blaine 5: The Tornadoes scored five goals in the first period to set the tone for their victory against Bengals in the Section 7 championship. Chandler Foerster and Luke Billehus each had three goals, and teammates Zach Weigman and Preston Olson had two goals each to help Anoka advance to the state tournament. 
 
Wayzata 11, Maple Grove 5:
Dalton Seesz was unstoppable for Wayzata, scoring five goals in all of five of his shot attempts. Teammate Brooks Hanson also provided some punch on offense by scoring two goals. Jackson Carlson provide two goals and assist for Maple Grove. 
 
Benilde-St. Margaret’s 9, Blake 5: The Red Knights' outstanding performance against the Bears was enough to earn their fourth trip to the state tournament. Quinn Ehlen led Benilde-St. Margaret's with four goals, and teammate Ben Scherer provided two goals and an assist.
 
June 8
 
Prior Lake 6, Eastview 5: The Lightning's perfect season came to an end as Luke Bloedow scored the go-ahead goal in the fourth period to wrap up a bid to state tournament for the Lakers. After trailing 5-3 at the start of the fourth period, Prior Lake battled back with unanswered goals from John Leffier and Bloedow, including the game-winner. 
 

Eagan 19, Park of Cottage Grove 8: Fourteen goals in the first two periods allowed Wildcats to pull away from Wolfpack in a dominating effort. Isaac Peifer and Brandon Wuertz combined to score 10 goals for Eagan, while teammate Cole Powell played well by scoring three goals in the second half.
