Game 1 was against an old nemisis in WBL. It turned out to not be too bad at all. The boys played really solid the whole game. WBL was unable to control our X position and Cameron and Josh took advantage of it in a 10-1 win.
Game 2 turned out to be a pretty good lacrosse game. Both teams played very solid defense and both goalies had great games, but Danny's was just perfect! Two of the goals we scored were well earned while the one Will got credit for, well, we'll take it! SLP put up a great fight but the boys were victorious 3-0.
The rain was just non-stop this week and we lost both practices. That made getting the boys ready to really play was difficult at best.
Game 1 was vs. unbeaten Rosemount White. We kept them in check okay but our boys got caught on defense with the ball and a opponent behind them too many times. They kept it close though as it was 2-4 through 3 periods. Zach R. took the opening face-off, ran down the field and hit Josh L. with a perfect pass and Josh put it home to get to 3-4 but that was all they could muster with the final being 3-6.
Game 2 was against winless Inver Grove Heights. The line-ups were all over the place the entire game. I think the boys got pretty frustrated at times with this one as they played so out of position. They won 5-3 and were up 5-0 before IGH put up 3 late goals to make it interesting.
So, after 4 of 5 weekends, we are 5-3. Just to show the parity between the three Eagan teams, Blue is also 5-3 while Green is 3-3-2 (or 4-4 of you transfer the ties over) so it certainly appears EAA did another really nice job of splitting the teams up evenly.
Game 1 vs. Farmington was a very good lacrosse game. Despite having only one referee he did a very good job of controlling and calling the game. Farmington kept it close until halftime when it was 5-3 but the boys had a little too much for them in them in the 2nd half winning 8-4.
Game 2 was out of hand right away. It became a learing experience for the boys in teamwork and sportsmanship. They worked on all different positions and spread the ball around very well. Despite the lopsided score, the boys were all smiles and several said it was the funnest game they have ever played in. I think that is the #1 goal - FUN!
