7th/8th League Scheduling Meetings

There will be three divisions in the 7th/8th grade league in 2012. "A", North and South. Associations with multiple teams can place any combination of teams in these three divisions. However, if an association fields more than one team in the North or South divisions, the association must attempt to balance talent across those teams.

Associations can attend either division scheduling meeting, or even both. Last year's divisions are listed here.

South: February 4th, 12:30 PM, Kenwood Trails Middle School, Lakeville. Site has PCA Coaches (10:30 AM) and Parents workshops (1:30 and 2:30). Event page.

North: February 11th, 9:00 AM, National Sports Center in Blaine. Classroom on 2nd floor of Sports Hall building.

A: February 18th, 11:00 AM, Benilde-St. Margaret's HS, Library (just inside the school's front door to the right) 2501 Highway 100 South, St. Louis Park, MN 55416

Season starts April 21-22
10 games played on 5 weekend double-headers.
Team fee is $100, due April 1
Refs will be paid through the league with RefPay. Fees will also be due April 1, $350 for 10 games. Total equals $450 per team.
Each team is expected to host 5 games. Come to the meeting with dates that you can host.
Sunday afternoon games are encouraged. You will get better refs if you play on Sunday. Right now Saturday April 21 and April 28 are both heavily booked with HS games. Many adult and HS are not available) Some games those weekends will have to be on Sunday. All teams with turf should try to host April 22 or 29.

$200 for Varsity, $100 for each team at all other levels.

Ref Fees
$400 for 9/10 ref fees. Game fee went up to $40.
$350 for 7/8.
$280 for 5/6 and 3/4. They play 8-game seasons.

Mandatory Rules Meeting

9 AM, March 10, University of St. Thomas, St. Paul

Hour and a half rules meeting must be attended by at least one coach from every team in the MBSLA. (If you have two 7/8 teams, then two coaches must attend for that league) A make up session is possible if absolutely necessary, but it is your responsibiliy to set it up with Kevin Reed. Signing a Code of Conduct at the rules meeting is needed for proof of attendance.

All coaches must turn in a Code of Conduct and take an online concussion course before the season starts. If attending the meeting, coaches should take the concussion course before the meeting, print out the certificate and bring it to turn in.

Half-hour MBSLA general meeting follows. Includes elections for the board for the 2013 season.

Coaches clinic starting at 11 AM with keynote speaker, free lunch at noon, and two tracks of two sessions each at 12:15 and 1:30. Details to come.

COACHES! MBSLA MANDATORY RULES MEETING

This meeting is required for at least one coach from every team in the 2012 MBSLA's spring season. Coaches should bring proof of concussion training (Copy of your certificate). A short general meeting afterward, including elections for 2013 season. Coaching clinic afterward, optional, but free lunch. Attending this meeting will also qualify for YLM's coaching requirements.
