Lakeville South at Apple Valley
5:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 28

Apple Valley trails Lakeville South by one game in the South Suburban Conference standings, and the winner would stay in contention for the crown of arguably the state's toughest league.

Lakeville South (5-0, 2-0) shot to a No. 4 ranking thanks to its high-powered offense. The Cougars haven’t been challenged, with their closest margin of victory coming against Eastview in a 12-6 win on April 21.

Stoking the fiery offense is senior midfielder Logan Halvorson, who ranks as one of the state's best in scoring goals (23, tied for second-most) and points (32, second). Senior forward Maddy Canney (19-10-29) isn't far off Halvorson's pace, and junior forward Emma Schaefer has 12 goals for Lakeville North.

Apple Valley's lone loss came to top-tanked Prior Lake (13-9) on April 23. Like the Cougars, the No. 6-ranked Eagles (3-1, 1-1) wield some serious scoring punch, with freshman forward Reagan Roelofs (13-11-24) and junior forward Katie Moynihan (17-6-23) lighting up the scoreboard.
