Prior Lake at Rosemount
5:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 28

Prior Lake and Rosemount battle for some breathing space in the South Suburban Conference.

The No. 1 Lakers and the Irish are tied with Lakeville South atop the standings with 2-0 records, and one game may prove to be the difference in the race for the title in the ultra-competitive league.

Balanced scoring has been the key to Prior Lake's 4-0 mark. Junior attackers Ashley Norberg and Aleah Fjelstad and sophomore midfielder Sarah Pierson have eight goals apiece. Freshman midfielder Lexi Peer has seven goals and senior attacker Taylor Jones tallied six.

Junior defender Alexa Bloedow leads the Lakers' defense and has 10 ground balls.

A staunch defense is Rosemount's calling card. All three of the Irish's losses were by four goals or less, and they are second in the conference in ground balls with 78.

Junior forwards Samantha Rhody (18-3-21) and Darby Henjum (17-5-22) and sophomore midfielder Maggie Moeller (13 goals) are the offensive catalysts, but Rhody (14) and Moeller (13) are as effective in scooping ground balls.
