Mahtomedi at Hill-Murray
7 p.m., Tuesday, May 19

Mahtomedi has lost its last three league games, nearly deflating the Zephyrs' hopes of winning the Metro East Conference standings.

With victories back-to-back games against league leader Hill-Murray remaining on the slate, third-place Mahtomedi (7-4, 4-2) can still rise to the top of the standings and compete with the Pioneers for the conference title.

The Zephyrs have outscored league opponents 99-33 thanks to the play of junior midfielder Kailey Heinl (35-23-58), junior forward Sabrina Seidl (28-16-44), senior forward Madison Fernandez (18-10-28) and senior midfielder Hannah Shands (17-10-27). Shands also leads the team with 49 ground balls.

Hill-Murray sophomore forward Caroline Cayot is one of the state's most prolific scorers, tallying 50 goals in 10 games. The Pioneers (8-2, 5-0), however, are not one dimensional on offense. Senior midfielder Taylor Lambert (21-18-39) and senior forward Sarah Link (14-17-31) can score goals and provide assists, while junior midfielder Kyla Donovan (18 goals) has emerged as a threat, scoring nine goals in the last four games.
