Bloomington Jefferson edged fellow ranked teams Edina, Eastview and Prior Lake for the top seed in the Section 6 playoffs.

The Jaguars, No. 3 in the most recent state boys' lacrosse coaches association poll, defeated the No. 1 Hornets a week ago and also topped the No. 6 Lakers during the regular season. Jefferson's only defeat was to the No. 8 Lightning. All three games were decided by three goals or less.

The other ranked teams earning top seeds include No. 2 Lakeville North (Section 1), No. 7 Eden Prairie (Section 2), No. 5 Woodbury (Section 3), No. 9 Tartan (Section 4) and No. 11 Anoka (Section 7).

Edina and No. 4 Rosemount are the only top-5-ranked teams not to receive a top seed in the postseason.

The other No. 1 seeds are Benilde-St. Margaret's (Section 5) and Rogers (Section 8).

The postseason has begun with several play-in games already in the books. Section quarterfinals are scheduled for this week, with the state tournament slated to start on June 14.
