Blake vs. Cretin-Derham Hall
1 p.m., Saturday, April 22

This west versus east metro private school tilt pits Minneapolis-based Blake against host Cretin-Derham Hall in St. Paul on Saturday.

The Bears, ranked No. 2 in the state coaches' association poll, return first-team all-state selections Emily Johnsrud (53-39-92) and Nellie Ide, a lockdown defender and vocal leader who earned Star Tribune All-Metro honors last year as a junior.

Sophie Skallerud (38-23-61) was a second-team all-state member, and is joined by fellow junior Lucy Graham who takes over between the pipes for a Bears team that lost to Eden Prairie in the state championship game.

The Raiders made their first-ever state tournament appearance last season and return 82 percent of their scoring production with Katie Buckingham’s 32 goals in 2016 being the major loss.

Maya Quigley (49-14-63) leads a rising group of juniors and sophomores who are looking to improve upon last year’s 13-5 record. Elle Crawford will anchor Cretin-Derham Hall in the crease as one of the state’s top goalies with a .576 save percentage last season.
