Blake vs.

Providence Academy

7 p.m., Thursday, April 26

Since the Independent Metro Athletic Conference added boys’ lacrosse in 2015, Blake has yet to lose a league game. Providence Academy challenged the Bears a season ago, falling 10-8, and both teams will be adjusting to losing major pieces. Despite this, the lure of this matchup is that the Lions still have what it takes to become the first team to hang a league loss on their rival.

The Lions bring back three runners who reached double-digit goals last spring, but it's group that is missing leading-scorer Mike Kahler due to ineligibility. Lone senior Kole Derosier could see a bigger role with Kahler’s absence after scoring 12 goals and tallying 17 assists a year ago.

Blake (1-0), which dispatched Mounds View 15-5 on April 12, looks to Bjorn Holm for scoring. He led the Bears a season ago with 30 goals.
