Bloomington Jefferson

vs. Chaska

7 p.m., Thursday, Apr. 26

Bloomington Jefferson holds two advantages entering this Metro West Conference matchup. The Jaguars (1-0) have already started playing competitive games, and they return Rachel Graff.

Graff recorded 69 goals last season, tying Eden Prairie's Naomi Rogge for second-most in the state, and the threat she poses will garner extra attention from defenses, which could open up scoring opportunities for her teammates.

In contrast, Chaska graduated its top scorer, leaving a void that could be filled by last year's second- and third-leading scorers, Emma Simpson and Siri Olson, who scored 14 and eight goals, respectively.

If last year's trends hold true, the Hawks will be looking to keep the Jaguars corralled by employing a defense that helped hold the opposition to single-digit scoring in five of their eight wins a season ago.
