Cretin-Derham Hall vs.

St. Thomas Academy

7 p.m., Monday, May 14

Separated by six miles, Cretin-Derham Hall and St. Thomas Academy pull from the same contingent and share a similar goal: a Section 3 title. Each team could earn a top-four seed with a win next Monday, making this meeting one to circle on the calendar.

Ian Obert (19-13-32) played a key role in the Raiders' 14-12 win over the Cadets a season ago, finishing with two goals and three assists. Obert has led the Raiders (4-2, 2-2) this season and tallied 14 points in three games last week. He was held scoreless in a 21-8 loss to White Bear Lake on May 1 and he’ll be looking to get on the board against a surging St. Thomas Academy.

After dropping their first two games, the Cadets (4-2, 3-1) have won four straight. Luke Williams has been a primary contributor to the winning streak and had four goals against the Raiders last year. Expect his play to help power the Cadets through Cretin-Derham Hall’s staunch defense.
