Hastings vs. Mahtomedi

7 p.m., Tuesday, May 15

Hastings and Mahtomedi are the only two teams in the Metro East Conference with unbeaten league records. That will change on Tuesday, when the Raiders visit the Zephyrs. But that's not the only significant matchup this week for Hastings, which travels to St. Thomas Academy the following day for a game that will largely decide which of the three teams will take the conference title.

Averaging 18.5 goals per game the past two weeks, Hastings (7-1, 4-0) has been revving offensively. Eli Schaffer (22-18-40) leads the Raiders attack this season and looks to remain lethal against a Zephyrs team that boasts an equally potent offense (114 goals).

Timmy Lindquist (19-18-37) has team-high totals in goals and assists this season, serving as the catalyst for Mahtomedi’s offense. The Zephyrs (6-3, 4-0) game plan will be to push the pace against a Hastings team they defeat 18-8 last year.
