Park of Cottage Grove

vs. Stillwater

7 p.m., Tuesday, May 22

Park of Cottage Grove has shown marked improvement from last season, transforming from a team with a 7-8 record into one boasting an 11-1 mark heading into the final week of this regular season. The Wolfpack's lone loss was to Cretin-Derham Hall (8-4 on May 8), and they are looking to add one more significant win before section play begins.

Defense has been one of Park's consistent strengths this season, one that could earn the Wolfpack their first state tournament appearance with a strong showing in the coming weeks. Goalie Jailee Hendrickson is tied for first in the state with 10 wins, anchoring a defense that has yet to yield double-digit goals this year. That streak, however, may be in jeopardy against Stillwater in the final game of the regular season.

Abby Hagberg has been driving the Ponies offense all season, notching 61 goals (second most in the state). Stillwater (7-4, 6-1) will be looking to get Hagberg and the rest of the offense going in this matchup — and if they can break the 10-goal barrier that Park has established, the No. 10 Ponies have a shot at taking home the win.
