Buffalo vs. Orono

7 p.m., Thursday, May 24

Buffalo and Orono have turned around their success from a season ago. The Bison are poised to finish the regular season undefeated while the Spartans have far outstripped their .500 record.

Buffalo (9-0, 8-0) has been consistently excellent on defense this season, allowing no more than six goals in any game. Sophomore goaltender Maddy Huebner has been instrumental in that effort, recording a 3.86 goals-against average and a .733 save percentage. If Huebner and the Bison's defense have two solid games this week, Buffalo should complete a perfect regular season.

The Greater West Metro Conference title is out of Orono's reach as the regular season winds down, but the Spartans have the offensive firepower to ruin conference front-runner Buffalo's regular-season finale. Orono (8-2, 6-2) has been rolling on offense, tallying no fewer than 12 goals in each game since scoring in single digits in the first two contests of the year.

Georgia Beutler leads Orono in goals (22) and assists (8) and will be the Spartans' main threat to unlock the Bison defense.
