Lakeville South vs. Eagan

7:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 30

One team that might surprise some for being near the top of the South Suburban Conference standings is Lakeville South (4-0, 2-0), which faces a tough test in league foe Eagan this week.

Up front, Lakeville South has benefitted from the play of attackmen Skyler Rust and Jack Dempsey. Rust, a senior, has a team-high 13 goals this season, while Dempsey has the team lead with 25 points (11 goals, 14 assists) in his junior campaign.

Rust and Dempsey each had hat tricks to help the Cougars' outlast No. Rosemount 12-11 in double overtime last Thursday.

Eagan has had just one hiccup this season and it came in the season opener against East Ridge. Since then, it's been smooth sailing for the No. 8 Wildcats (3-1, 2-0). That's in large part due to senior attackman Andrew Wilson, who leads the team with 14 goals. Junior attackman Damien Schultz has put up big numbers with eight goals and 11 assists through four games.
