Holy Family Catholic
vs. Hutchinson

6:30 p.m., Monday, May 6

Hutchinson has been climbing the Wright County Conference standings thanks to the play of one of the state's best goal scorers.

Sophomore midfielder Maddy Seifert has 43 goals this season — more than half of the team's 77 total. Seifert's onslaught includes two games in which she tallied double-digit goals: 10 in a 17-4 win at St. Cloud on May 3 and 13 in an 18-14 victory at Delano/Rockford.

Hutchinson finished tied with Buffalo at the top of the Greater West Metro standings last season, and the Tigers have brought that experience with them as they now compete in the newly organized Wright County Conference this year.

Hutchinson (5-0, 2-0) and Holy Family Catholic are tied at the top standings entering the week.

After previously playing as an independent, Holy Family Catholic has its sights set on winning the league's first title, but the Fire (2-2, 2-0) need to defeat Hutchinson to maintain their quest.

The Fire's two blemishes have come against No. 4 Breck (18-1 on April 15) and No. 3 Chanhassen (20-5 on April 29), and taming the Tigers could be a boost for this team as it settles into league play.

The Fire's offense averages more than 14 goals in wins this season and only three in losses.

Senior midfielder Brielle Bornhorst has helped drive that offense, scoring eight goals.
