Chanhassen vs.

Benilde-St. Margaret's

7 p.m., Tuesday, May 7

While this is the only matchup in our top games this week to feature two ranked teams, No. 8 Chanhassen and No. 2 Benilde-St. Margaret's come in with different pedigree and expectations.

Chanhassen is still looking to prove it is among the state's best teams, and the No. 8-ranked Storm (3-4, 1-1) have another chance to do so when visiting Metro West Conference rival Benilde-St. Margaret's on Tuesday.

Chanhassen is 0-3 in games against top-10 teams this season, and to avoid a fourth loss, the Storm needs help on both ends of the field from players such as Hunter Holcomb and Zechariah Rathe.

Holcomb, a junior attackman, has emerged as one of the Storm's top scorers after tallying a team-best 15 goals through six games. Rathe, a junior goaltender, begins the week with a .623 save percentage.

Benilde-St. Margaret's continues its run as one of the top programs in the state. The No. 2 Red Knights (6-0, 2-0), have not lost a regular-season contest since 2017 and have passed every test that's come their way this season. That includes Saturday's 4-3 win against No. 6 Prior Lake.

After losing a number of key players from last season's team, Benilde-St. Margaret's has seen Matt Dowden pick up the offensive slack. The sophomore had nine goals and five assists in a 25-0 win over St. Louis Park in the conference opener on April 18.

The Red Knights have been staunch defensively in conference play, allowing just two goals in as many league games.
