This season Duluth has beefed up its schedule with tests against metro teams such as Woodbury and Champlin Park.
But the Wolfpack's toughest metro test will be Saturday's tilt against top-ranked Minnetonka. A victory for Duluth would likely be counted as best in program history.
The Wolfpack (6-1) have gotten off to a near-perfect start with big performances from players such as junior attackman Jayden Erie, who's shown to be one of the state's top scorers with 24 goals this season. Senior attackman Jackson Hill isn't far behind with 22 goals.
While Duluth might have some scorers, not many schools can match the offensive firepower of the Skippers (7-0, 3-0). Seniors Grant Brunsvold and Andrew DiFrancesco lead a high-powered Minnetonka offense.
Both helped secure a 10-7 victory against No. 4 Eden Prairie on April 27 — the Skippers' biggest test of the season. Brunsvold, a midfielder, scored three times while DiFrancesco had a pair of goals and an assist.
