Benilde-St. Margaret's vs. Bloomington Jefferson

6 p.m., Tuesday, May 21

With two games remaining before postseason play begins, Benilde-St. Margaret's is on the cusp of a second consecutive unbeaten regular season. The Red Knights' biggest obstacle left comes Tuesday in the form of Bloomington Jefferson, a fellow unbeaten Metro West Conference opponent.

Benilde-St. Margaret's, ranked No. 3 in the May 14 state coaches' poll, has beaten five teams currently ranked in the top 10.

Sophomore midfielder Matt Dowden has been a thorn in the side of every opponent Benilde-St. Margaret's (11-0, 4-0) has faced this season. He's tallied 31 goals to go along with 11 assists. Junior attackman Jack VanOverbeke has also put together an impressive year with 23 goals and 32 assists.

The Jaguars (9-2, 3-0) have clawed through a challenging regular season of their own. They'll look to counter the Red Knights' attack with a combination of strong defense and scoring.

In goal, sophomore Jake McCarthy has been a factor in Bloomington Jefferson's success with a .604 save percentage. Up front, senior attackman Max Ritchie has paved the way with a team-best 24 goals.
