Moorhead figures to face its stiffest competition so far this season in St. Michael-Albertville, which has a deceptively strong 3-2 record.
The No. 10 Knights’ two losses were each by one goal against Lake Conference powerhouses (8-7 against Eden Prairie on April 15 and 12-11 versus Minnetonka on April 22). St. Michael-Albertville junior Joshua Tourville ranks second in the state with 15 goals.
Moorhead (3-0), in just its second season as a varsity program, returns five seniors — including co-captain Parker Buckner — from its inaugural 5-6 season in 2019.
